January 4, 2020: The Navy
Recruit two crows
You know the ones
Two wasps
And two moths of every type
Two mulberry trees,
Her fruit
Every tiger from every zoo
Every exotic pet trend
Two marigolds
At least, edible
I think I ate them off the driveway
Twenty waxwings, two would be hard
To parse
Mycelia
Rosemary
A wood
A meadow
Foxes, little voles, tender grasses
Two cottonmouths, for morale
Two possums, for the nightwatch
The seasons
The best rocks.
Two kangaroos
Carrying the last of the stores
For the fleet
And send them off
To war
Without us.
